12. Gas Cutting
The process consists of preheating the metal to be cut to its ignition (oxidation) temperature, i.e., above 870°C in case of steel.
The preheating is done by oxy- acetylene gas flame, which is supplied from surrounding openings of the cutting torch. When this temperature is attained, a jet of high pressure oxygen from a central opening of the cutting torch is directed on the red hot metal.

Ensure uncoiled hoses will no be a tripping hazard. 5. Ensure there are no leak, cracks or damage to hoses. 6. Ensure all torch valves are closed and inspect for possible leaks. 7. Hot work to be done where possible away from the potential fuel source. 8. Use partitions to restrict and localize the ignition source. 9. Work strictly in accordance with hot work permit conditions. |

1. Monitoring freeqency will be depends upon pattern of the work.
2. Keep separate storage for filled and empty cylinders. 3. keep cylinders always upright position tied up with chains and under secured well ventilated shed 4. Do not roll the cylinders 5. Do not lift cylinders by means of slings, chains or ropes 6. Keep 20 ft distance between storage of flammable gas and oxygen cylinders. |
