2. Man basket is only to be lifted by persons competent in the operation of the lifting equipment to be used. 

3. Prior to use of a man basket the conditions is to be completed and approval obtained from the supervisor. 

4. An adequately maintained and checked fall arrest safety harness complete with lanyard shall be attached to an approved fixed point within the person cage. 

5. The harness is to be worn at all times by persons who are working in the man basket 

2. A craneis to be equipped with controls that return to the neutral position when released and this action causes the motion to stop 

3. A crane is to be equipped with power lowering 

4. A crane is to be equipped with a positive  free-fall lockout contral so that inadvertent  disengagement of the lockout is not possible 

5. A crane is to fitted with an up-limit switch, if the cage is to be lowered below the crane supporting surface 

6. A rope design factor not less than 8 applied to the load comprising the personnel and the lifting cage 

7. The crane has a minimum rated capacity of 1000kg and such that the load chart is equal to or greater than the total load of the cage adn its contents

9. If operator can not hear or see hand signal he must stop all operation until he receive any signal 

2. Suitable knot-free and defect-free tag line(s) shall be attached to the man basket and controlled at all times 

3. Man basket crane lifts shall not be performed in wind speeds exceeding 32 km/h (20 mph) 

4. Man baskets shall not be used for any purpose other than lifting personnel and their work tools
